Last weekâ€™s late night ratings are out and ABC is like the cat that got the cream boasting impressive ratings and numbers across their late night offerings.
The week of April 25th, 2011 saw the overall total viewers over the year-ago shoot up 3% increasing its overall late night audience for the 15th time in 17 weeks.
ABCâ€™s Nightline is one of the winners in the late night ratings race beating out competitors NBCâ€™s Leno and CBSâ€™ Letterman in total viewers. For the tenth week in a row and the ninth time in 10 weeks, Nightline is the ratings champ among key adults.
Another over-achiever in the ABC bag of tricks is Jimmy Kimmel, which is steadily growing its numbers over the year-ago week for the seventh week straight.
ABCâ€™s JKL has also outshone competitor NBCâ€™s Ferguson in terms of total viewers for the seventh week straight. Dynamite guests like Jamie Oliver, Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke had Tuesdayâ€™s airing of Ferguson people picking up their remote and tuning to ABC in such numbers that it scored fifth place in the most watched telecast of the season.
Whatever it is they are doing over there at ABC seems to be hitting the right note with viewers. The week of April 25, 2011, Nightline consolidated its place as king of late night with the number one spot for total viewers for the 10th week running. It also boasts the number one spot for the ninth time in 10 weeks among the adult 25-54 age group.
Nightline is up a whopping +9% on its year-ago ratings of total viewers. It is also the program that grew the most on year-to-year total viewers compared to NBCâ€™s Tonight Show (-4%) and CBSâ€™s The Late Show (+3%).
For the first time ever at this point in the season Nightline has been ranking first among for total viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
