Seems like we can’t get enough of vampires at the moment and Disney’s new My Babysitter’s a Vampire, a comedic spin on pop culture vampires and scary movies in general, is a timely newcomer.

The new release movie will premiere on Friday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel and tells the story of three teens who believe their new babysitter is a real bloodsucking creature of the night — and it’s now up to them to rid their sleepy little town of the menace.

The movie is produced by Fresh TV and distributed by Fremantle Media Enterprises (FME),  and is set to usher in a summer series premiering Monday, June 27 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT).

The films centers around geeky 14-year old Ethan (played by Matthew Knight) who is left to babysit his younger sister, Jane (played by Ella Jonas Farlinger), with his best friend Benny (played by Atticus Mitchell). But after Ethan inadvertently puts Jane in harm’s way, his parents hire a professional sitter, the beautiful yet mysterious 17-year-old Sarah (played by Vanessa Morgan) who, unbeknownst to them, is actually a fledgling vampire. It is hard to believe that it is 25 years since writer/director John Hughes gave us Ferris Bueller. To celebrate the occasion Paramount is releasing an anniversary version.

The anniversary version features special packaging and graphics as well as in-depth bonus material and features to take viewers behind the scenes and get a whole new perspective on this eighties classic.

The charming comedy centers around Matthew Broderick as a high school student and his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) and best bud Cameron (Alan Ruck), who ditch school to enjoy one perfect day as a kid with no responsibilities. By Rachel Menendez Dancing with the Stars is one of the biggest draw cards having just enjoyed its biggest ever audience for a spring finale.

The latest ratings continue to confirm the dominance of ABC over its rival networks. ABC is now airing seven of the top 20 TV shows in the adults 18-49 years-old bracket, which is more than any other network.

Additionally the network is also delivering two out of the top three most-watched shows overall.

Disney/ABC TV Group Signs Multi-Platform Deal with Katie Couric

Disney/ABC have just signed award-winning journalist and best-selling author Katie Couric to host and produce a daily daytime show to premier in 2012.

Katie Couric is a winner of the distinguished duPont, Murrow and Cronkite Awards and numerous Emmy’s. She is already well known to American and international audiences and ABC is looking forward to having her lend her experience to the ABC news team.

The deal will see Couric join the ABC news team as well as hosting and producing a daily hour-long syndicated talk show. It has been announced that the show will premiere in September, 2012. Read More
